ETHEL WHITE DOUGLAS

Source: Crawfordsville Journal, Thursday, October 27, 1904

Ethel S. White, the daughter of John B. and America E. White, was born September 29, 1881, and died October 22, 1904, aged twenty-three years and twenty-three days. She united with the New Market M.E. church in May 1895, and was married to David S. Douglas March 15, 1899, to which union were added two dear little daughters, Odessa Marie and Mary Elizabeth. Such in brief is the life story of a dear dutiful daughter, a loving wife, and devoted mother. It is seldom we meet one so full of love and devotion for all those around her as was Ethel. She was true to her friends and numbered them by her acquaintances. Her funeral services was conducted at the home of her mother by her pastor, Rev. W.G. Alley. services by Rev. H. Weston. She leaves besides her husband and two daughters, a mother and two sisters to mourn her absence. Her father and three brothers had preceded her, so Ethel had an interest in the beyond and often spoke of joining the dear ones gone before.
